| Swedish folk music has many roots and includes folk tradition, vocal forms as songs, cover tunes and redesigned hymns and traditional uses music, especially dance and party music. Like other folk are spread large, between different parts of Sweden, and many provinces, cities, parishes and even villages have their own characteristic style. Many influences from neighboring countries such as Poland, Russia, Germany & Eastern Europeas well as shipping and trading nations such as England, Ireland and the Netherlands. Many also point to church music influence, especially during the Baroque and the folk hymns influenced bylocal folk music before the introduction of the 1820 Act koralbokand organs in the churches. |

| In Sweden there are both original folk dances, most of whom are in the nature of ballroom dancing, and others that have their originin folk dances, but in its present form choreographers by trained- dancers in the 1800s. Folk dances may be of descriptive nature and show an event in life. For example, the "Bride Elevator", "Weaving homespun", "dancing crown of the Bride", Long Dance From Närke and Landskrona and "Tivedspolska ". |

ABBA was a Swedish pop group formed in Stockholm in 1970 which consisted of Anne-Frid Lungstad, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Agneta Fältsog. They became one of the mosy commercailly successful act in the history of pop music, topping the charts worldwide from 1972 to 1982. ABBA has sold over 370 million records worldwide.

| Ace of Base is a pop band based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Its original lineup consisted of Ulf Ekberg, and three siblings, Jonas Berggren, Malin Berggren and Jenny Berggren. They released four studio albums between 1993 and 2002, which sold in excess of 30 million copies worldwide. |

| Ted Gärdestad was a Swedish singer, composer and musician (guitar and piano). Ted broke through as an artist as a fifteen years old and had its heyday in the 1970s. He wrote the music for his songs, while his brother Kenneth Gärdestad usually wrote the lyrics. Ted died, 41 years old, then he jumped in front of a train at Häggviks station in Sollentuna (Stockholm) in June 22 1997. |
